Leadershit

Too many people are stuck in a crappy job.
But, it's not really the job. It's the boss.

About the Book

Leadershit is not your typical business book. It’s a hilarious and insightful memoir filled with stories, tools, and practical advice to navigate the landmines of work. Whether you’ve had your fair share of bad bosses or are just starting your management journey, this book will make you laugh and set you up to regain control and have fun at work.

Jake spills his painfully funny journey from trying to survive to helping others push through. Then, he’ll show you:

Are you ready to survive your Bad Boss, grow yourself, and have fun at work?

It’s AMAZING!
It’s a lighthearted way to shine a light on bad leadership and, as an employee, know when to move on when work situations get…crappy.
I couldn't put it down!
I read the first 100 pages in one sitting! Using the power of humor and real-life stories, Jake candidly shows just how bad leadership can get and how you can inspire culture and collaboration in even the crappiest of workplaces.
Jake has been telling stories his whole life.
He got pretty good at it.

Author's Note

Like too many people, I was trapped in a crappy job. My family depended on the income and I felt like a prisoner. I felt isolated and my spirit was suffocating. Day by day, happiness was being sucked from my bones. Nobody was investing in me, my skills were starting to stale, and I was falling behind others in the industry. Every passing month made me less valuable in the marketplace. Every night, I’d get home, too exhausted to even look for a new job.

But, it wasn’t really the job. It was the boss—a really Bad Boss.

He acted like he cared about us, but really only cared if people liked him. He would lie, cheat, and jeopardize employees to get people to like him—even strangers. We had to copy him on all our emails, record our calls, and leave tracking on our phones.

He craved credit and praise so much that he regularly withheld information. At the last minute, he’d swoop in and save the day. Words became fuzzy and lost their definitions. Promises, laws, and regulations were constraints for other people—not him. To him, we weren’t teammates. We were to be a fan club cheering him on and ever thankful for the gift of employment. But in reality we were belittled and discarded whenever he felt threatened.

But, I found a way through. I found hope.

I survived.

And so can you.
